Yang and Yin Yoga Practice for the Winter
About this course
This is a course to introduce you to the practice of Yang Yoga and Yin Yoga for restoring energy, clarity and calm especially with the change of seasons in the Autumn and Winter months. Many of us may experience a shift in our energy levels in the Winter months and some of us may experience a shift and change in mood due to the changes in the seasons. You will learn simple breathing techniques and sequences that are both traditional and have been practiced for centuries to improve stamina, balance, coordination, mobility and focus. You will also learn how to practice individual movements from the modern style of Yin Yoga that can have a calming effect on the body and the mind and may improve your overall health just by slowing down and holding postures for a couple of minutes. The course is open to all levels and there is no special equipment required except an exercise mat and cushions if you have them. Taking time to prepare for the changes in seasons was and still is an important practice to keep us aligned with recognising the changes in nature outside of us and within us. By taking this course the mind and body is preparing for shifts that may occur in the environment that affect our everyday movements and moods leading up to the Winter months and beyond.
