Their expertise enables organizations to adopt a true data fabric strategy, where data can be managed, protected, and moved seamlessly across any environment.A primary responsibility is the deployment and operation of Cloud Volumes ONTAP (CVO) in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The engineer provisions CVO instances, configures networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups), and sets up storage volumes that provide enterprise‑grade data services in the cloud. They manage the lifecycle of these instances, including scaling, software upgrades, and licensing. They also configure replication and data mobility using SnapMirror to synchronize data between on‑premises NetApp systems and CVO, enabling disaster recovery, data tiering, and cloud bursting.The engineer also manages cloud‑native data protection and tiering services. They configure NetApp Cloud Backup (formerly AltaVault) to back up on‑premises and cloud data to object storage, ensuring long‑term retention at lower cost.
