MonoGame Development: Design, Build & Animate Games
About this course
Learn to design, build, animate, and refine interactive games with C# and the MonoGame framework. This project-based course takes you from installing MonoGame and creating a project to developing a complete Brick Breaker game with responsive controls, scoring, lives, and multi-level progression. You’ll learn to manage game assets with the MonoGame Pipeline Tool, draw content using SpriteBatch, create and move multiple objects, and animate 2D sprites with source rectangles and position updates. You’ll also explore 3D game development by loading and rendering models, applying world, view, and projection matrices, transforming animated objects, and incorporating textures. As you build Brick Breaker step by step, you’ll implement paddle and ball controls, boundary conditions, brick generation, collision detection, real-time score updates, life tracking, and level transitions. You’ll then develop advanced yellow- and blue-block mechanics using block counts, timed win messages, texture corrections, vector positioning, and progressive collision logic. Designed for beginners in game development and learners who want to expand their C# and MonoGame skills, the course replaces isolated theory with continuous hands-on development. By the end, you’ll understand the MonoGame workflow and have a polished, portfolio-ready game that demonstrates practical 2D and 3D graphics, animation, collision handling, and gameplay design skills.
