Microsoft positions this credential for professionals who apply data science and machine learning to implement and run machine learning workloads on Azure. The role includes designing data science environments, exploring data, training models, implementing pipelines, preparing jobs for production, managing deployments, monitoring machine learning solutions, and using language models for AI applications.Professionals preparing for DP-100 are expected to work with Azure Machine Learning, MLflow, Azure AI services including Azure AI Search, and Azure AI Foundry, which Microsoft notes is in the process of being updated to Microsoft Foundry in the exam materials. This makes the certification relevant not only for traditional machine learning workflows, but also for newer AI application scenarios that include prompt flow, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and fine-tuning.The official exam outline is organized around four major skill areas. These are designing and preparing a machine learning solution, exploring data and running experiments, training and deploying models, and optimizing language models for AI applications.
