The Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD®) is a professional certification designed by the Association for Talent Development (ATD) for experienced talent development professionals. The examination assesses whether candidates can apply knowledge, make sound professional judgments, solve workplace performance problems, and design talent development solutions that create measurable organizational value. Unlike an examination focused primarily on memorization, the CPTD exam emphasizes practical application across the broad talent development discipline.The exam is built around ATD’s Talent Development Capability Model, which defines the knowledge and skills required for effective TD professionals.
