About this course

The purpose of this course is to provide students with the basic skills necessary to use Excel for personal and business purposes. The course will provide a foundation in Excel that can be expanded upon as students gain more experience. During the course, students will become familiar with the most commonly used features of the Excel application and be taught various formulas that can be used in everyday calculations. They will also be introduced to some more advanced techniques which will allow them to utilize the full potential of Excel’s features. After completing this course, students will be equipped to start using Excel confidently and successfully. Course Objectives This course will provide students with an overview of the basic functions of Microsoft Excel and the skills required to master those functions. It will cover the following topics: Introduction to Excel – Students will learn about the basic functions of the application and how to navigate the interface. Introduction to Formulas – Students will learn about the different types of formulas in Excel and how to set them up to perform simple calculations.Students will learn how to use conditional formatting in order to be able to highlight cells that contain errors or perform other functions based on the values in cells.
