This course is meant to be a basic introduction to the world of crime scene investigation. Students will understand what potential hazards may be at a crime scene and will understand security measures that must be taken at a crime scene. The course covers potential dangers you may face as well as how to handle certain challenges. In addition, the course will cover equipment that should be used and will discuss how to use the equipment and when to. The course is meant for current or a former criminal justice, forensic, or police science students, who are looking for a refresher course. It is also helpful for law enforcement administration so that they may be reminded of the potential dangers that could occur in the field. It is also a great course for current law enforcement officers or crime scene investigators, and would be great as a professional development course. Note that taking the course simply gives you a better understanding of the topic, it does not mean you are certified in the field of law enforcement, crime scene investigation, or forensics.
