Creativity
About this course
Why take this course? By taking this course you won't need any other creativity course or book, but if I've done my job well, you'll WANT to take more. Much more. Why "sleep on it" or always have to wait for inspiration to strike? Take these seven under ten minute sessions using your own materials and research as the foundation for personalizing the kind of creativity you wish to pursue. Everyone is creative and can learn how to enhance and focus this skill through practice. You wouldn't just observe a jazz musician or a surgeon and expect to know how to use their instruments without training, why is creative thinking any different? While it is important to be inspired by creative masters in their fields, merely imitating them will not lead to the same skills at the same level. Here's where you can work out your own structure, quickly develop a growing framework and then have this available on demand in more than just one field or interest. This course is designed with a very basic format to be accessible to everyone. The assignments are extremely brief and simple but build upon each other and offer a resource when you are done to revisit in the future. You will not be asked to study the current creative theories, terminology or methods, although after you finish this course you may find this information more useful to you. This course does tend to stress the "practical" innovation side of creativity and does include critical thinking as necessary to improving creative thinking. It also teaches that creativity exists and is just as important outside the artistic world as within it. The instructor will give feedback on assignments posted to the discussion forum within three days.
