About this course

In this course you will learn to sew abayas, right from the basics.You will first learn the correct tools and equipment that you will need for basic tailoring.You will also learn important terminology used in the sewing industry.This course consists of multiple classes; the first class will teach you how to draft a paper pattern using an existing garment known as the cloning method as well as the pattern drafting method; creating your custom paper pattern using your measurements.The second section of this class will teach you how to correctly fold the fabric in preparation for cuttingThe next part of the class will teach you how to cut correctly; although this sounds like a basic technique you will be surprised at what you will learnThe final, most challenging section of the course will consist of sewing of your garment.Each section will provide you with industry level tips and tricks that you can use in your own future projects.This class is perfect for anyone who is a beginner and wanting to learn traditional tailoring in the English language from a tutor with a decade of experience in the industryThis class is sectioned into bitesize, easy to digest, easy to follow lessons.As your tutor, I am excited for you to start your sewing journey into Abaya constructionSo, what are you waiting for?Let’s get started
