The Master's programme in Economics gives you theoretical and financial tools, and builds on your previous knowledge in the subject. The basic semester includes microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics and econometrics. The next semester consists of current topics in economics, for example environmental economics or transport economics. During that semester, you have the opportunity to apply theories and practical tools to real situations at companies and organisations.
The programme also offers courses in programming and machine learning which give you an opportunity to improve your data processing and technical skills. In addition, there is a 10-week internship where you can try out your future profession.
The applicant must hold the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (i.e the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) in economics, or equivalent. The students must have at least 60 credits in Economics. Furthermore, a minimum of 15 credits in mathematics/statistics/econometrics is required. Proof of English proficiency is required.

After graduation, you have the skills to work closely with decision makers, process and analyse large amounts of data, and present an analysis of your data to leaders. Future workplaces can be national or international companies, public organisations, aid organisations and organisations such as the UN, the EU and the OECD. Possible professions include data analysts, strategists, and business developers.
After graduation, you will be eligible for the doctoral programme in economics at JIBS, as well as many other doctoral programmes in economics around the world.
