Journalism in RUDN is the training of a universal specialist. The modern media industry is changing and expanding at a significant pace, so a journalist today does not just have to be able to write high-quality texts or make video clips, but also to be a universal specialist able to create a full-fledged media product on his own anywhere.
In the course of the training, students not only receive the necessary theoretical knowledge of the communication industry, theories and genres of journalism, types of communication and ways of presenting information, but also practice the knowledge gained. As a result, at the end of the training each student has his or her own professional portfolio with materials of various formats and genres to become his or her business card when applying for a job. We teach students how to work with all modern media tools and pass on the experience that will prepare them for work in the new-generation newsrooms.

The University's own technical base allows students to practice various fields of the media industry: there is an opportunity to undergo practical training at the RUDN television and radio studios, to be published in the University Druzhba newspaper. In addition, students can undergo internships in the leading Russian and international media and media holdings.
On a regular basis, professional Russian and foreign journalists, as well as professors from partner universities hold lectures and master classes at the faculty.
