Due to the research-oriented and practice-related orientation of the six-semester English-language Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (International) at KIT, graduates of the degree will focus on lifelong learning and international work in typical occupational fields of mechanical engineering in industry, the service sector, and public administration prepared.
You will acquire the necessary communicative, organizational, social, and intercultural skills for careers in international companies and organizations. Graduates acquire the scientific qualifications for a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or in related subjects.
In the basic-oriented part of the course, graduates acquire in-depth knowledge in the subjects of mathematics, mechanics, and materials science. In the application-oriented part, they acquire knowledge in the subjects of construction, logistics, and management as well as production and manufacturing planning. This is supplemented by basic knowledge of electrical engineering, computer science, and natural sciences. In the area of corporate management, international accounting standards, corporate structures, and international law are particularly taken into account.
The prerequisite for admission is a recognized university entrance qualification (equivalent to the German Abitur) and an SAT test with a result of at least 1,200 points. In addition, a letter of motivation must be enclosed with the application. If there are too many applicants, a selection process will take place.
