Master of Data Science (MDS)

Master of Data Science (MDS) is a 1 year Masters program taught at University of Guelph, . The program is offered in campus-based modes with full Time options. The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Data Science (MDS) at University of Guelph for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by University of Guelph.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by University of Guelph as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Data Science (MDS).

Honour’s Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution with a minimum average of 70% (B-) in the last four semesters of study with:

■ A major or minor in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; or

■ Working knowledge of statistics and computer programming demonstrated through completion of university or college level degree credit courses equivalent to the following U of G courses: STAT*3240 and CIS*2500.

Full-time students will complete the program in three semesters (12 months), while part-time students can expect to complete this course-based master’s program in 4-6 semesters, allowing students greater flexibility during their degree. In keeping with market demand, the program offers a unique emphasis on spatial-temporal data to support businesses’ need for data collected over time and across geographic regions.
