More Information

Dalhousie’s Environmental Science program encourages you to explore the environment from scientific perspectives; as well as the political, cultural, ethical, and historical angles. You can make it your main focus of study or combine it with other programs.

First year students will start by taking foundation courses to fulfill core requirements. You’ll start by learning the fundamentals of environmental science and explore topics such as current environmental challenges, the ecosphere, resources and sustainability. Students can explore their personal interests through electives. You’ll get outside the classroom and gain hands-on experience conducting field studies in nearby forests, marshes, rivers and city parks. Students will also have the opportunity to complete work terms through the co-op education program.
